Cablecast & Windows 11
Starting January 2025 all Cablecast servers ship with Windows 11 IoT installed. Prior to 2025 most Cablecast servers shipped with a version of Windows 10 IoT.
The information in this article can help you identify which version of Windows 10 you have installed and when the expected End of Life support date is from Microsoft.
Before You Begin
All Cablecast servers that shipped mid 2019 - December 2024 have a version of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC installed. See the information below on how to identify which version of windows you are running.
Cablecast Server Ship Date July 2022 - December 2024
- Windows 10 Io1 Enterprise LTSC 2021
- End of Support January 13th, 2032
Cablecast Server Ship Date June 2019 - June 2022
- Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2019
- End of Support January 9th, 2029
Note
If you have a Cablecast server that is older than 5 years you will not be eligible for a Windows 11 upgrade. Reach out to sales@cablecast.tv for more information.

Identify Your Version of Windows
You can use the following guide from Microsoft to identify which version of Windows you are running.
Windows 11 Upgrade Requirements
Cablecast Support will upgrade your Cablecast server to Windows 11 remotely.
There are a couple of things you'll need to prepare to make sure your Windows 11 upgrade goes smoothly. To get started, you will need:
- Dedicated USB drive with at least 16 GB of free space
- Your Cablecast appliance must already be on Windows 10
- Completed a purchase order for Windows 11 upgrade through Cablecast
- You must have a scheduled appointment with Cablecast for the update.
Note
The upgrade may take an hour or more to complete. Please make sure you are prepared to be off-air while the upgrade completes.

Pricing
A license for Windows 11 is required for each server that you upgrade in addition to having a Cablecast representative install the software remotely. All pricing inquiries should be sent to sales@cablecast.tv for more info.
